The Community Access Centre is available during all open hours of the public library except those times when there may be training sessions scheduled. There are currently six computers available for public use in the adult area (upper level) of the library and one available in the children's area (for patrons 12 years and under). In addition to Internet access, patrons will have use of software programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Works and web access to magazines, newspapers and provincial legislation. Web access to the periodicals is provided by Saskatchewan's Public Library system. Access to the Centre is free of charge. Only printing costs apply ($0.25 per page). In order to use one of the WeyCAP terminals patrons must register with their library card and receive one hour of usage at one of the six computer terminals. At the moment, time may be booked for up to two days in advance. The country name assigned to each computer (i.e. Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Poland, Sweden, and Burma*) act as identifiers for booking purposes. *Burma may only be booked for one half-hour at a time. |
